DISSERTATIONS

The College is, frequently, asked for sight of past dissertations submitted as part requirement of the Diploma award. Such requests may be prompted because a, current, National College student wants some idea of what constitutes a good dissertation in the eyes of the external marker. Alternatively, people may be interested in the content of a dissertation for its own sake.
Whilst we were happy to accommodate such requests, there were problems. We had to relay such a request to the relevant dissertation author, have him/her send a copy dissertation to the enquirer, if agreed (or, more usually, have to copy the dissertation here at our offices), establish a price to cover postage/packing and copying. All of this took time, hence the service now offered.

Certain dissertations, awarded a credit or distinction by the external markers, are now available from our Nelson offices. To keep costs down, they are reproduced in their original format rather than newly word-processed in house style, and are comb-bound. Prices will vary, due to the size of any given dissertation, and the cost of postage and packing.

In the great majority of cases, they are reproduced as originally submitted. Therefore, they represent, say, the views and research findings of the author as at the date of submission; they do not take account of the comments of the external marker at the time, or subsequent research.

It is hoped that the availability of this bank of dissertations will be useful to the existing student body, and others, alike. We take this opportunity to thank each and every individual author for his or her co-operation in making this project possible.

Prices include P&P
